Kyrgyz intends to introduce the concrete pavement in the country and, to expand the domestic demand for cement concrete, the government of Kyrgyz constructed a large cement factory that could produce about one million tons of cement per year in the southern part of Kyrgyzstan. Among the cement concrete pavement, the Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCCP) has exhibited a low initial construction cost, and damage due to traffic load is relatively small except for heavy traffic roads. The lifecycle cost of RCCP is also lower than the other cement concrete pavements under the classification mentioned above. Therefore, the introduction and use of RCCP would be effective in Kyrgyzstan, which has many routes having low traffic. In this project, technical support composed of the following has been provided by CTII for the purpose of promoting the RCCP to the Ministry of Transport and Roads (MOTR), Kyrgyz: -Preparation of RCCP Technical Standard -Identification of Roles and Responsibilities of MOTR on RCCP Project Management -Technical Transfer related to RCCP through seminars and pilot projects
